Arizona has the highest percentage of Native American owned land of all states. The Native American presence is pre-historic. The Hopi Native Americans have the oldest continuously inhabited villages in the new world. Old Oraibi has been continuously occupied for over 800 years.

Arizona is also a place to see ancient ruins. Here are some survey videos and pictures of the Sierra Ancha lost tribe cliff dwellings. Tree ring dating of timbers used in construction indicates that the Anchan ruins were built and occupied over a relatively short seventy year period, from 1280 to 1350. The Anchan ruins are very remote and were built to defend against attacks by other tribes to the north and south. The fate of the Anchan peoples is unknown.
